tube radio fire hazard?
so i found an old 1960s floor tube radio in an abandon warehouse and i have converted it to run of my ipod(i even threw a 50w subwoofer in the cabinet!!) anyways it has these tubes that glow red and it gets super hot and smells like a burning fire. i have had it on for hours and it seems ok but im still woried. here it is
sorry for the poor lighting. also it is missing the back 2 legs so it has to be sealed up against a wall(the glowing glass things) would the subwoofer be a problem cause its insides buzz to the sub. will it catch fire? ive never seen smoke yet.
no the sub has its own amp,
also the buzzing is stuff vibrating from the bass
your sub woofers are probably * Ohm impedance Low for a tube set them days look at the original speakers typically 16-32 Ohm, you are probably overheating the two if stereo output tubes , no fire hazard but they will internally burn out soon.Buzzing is probably a power supply Electrolytic Capacitor that is "leaky" and can be replaced.
